Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
So much to celebrate again, especially our amazing Year 6’s! This week we celebrated academic achievement, and once again it was my pleasure to hand out the certificates.
Well done everyone.
Movement is important for our mental health, but so many of us struggle to move enough, but not at our school. Mental Health awareness week is all about finding moments for movement in daily routines. It could be going for a walk, putting on your favourite music and dancing, chair exercise when watching television. At Langar we build daily movement breaks into the children’s school day, this could be a PE session, going around the mile track, heavy muscle work, sensory circuits, yoga, being a classroom helper and carrying out errands, sweeping, gardening and lots more.
Movement breaks help create levels of alertness which enables you to focus and concentrate. What movement breaks do you have?
Langar's Year 6 children shone brightly this week. This was a case of SATs done in the way that they should be done. Good vibes only! They were treated to bacon sandwiches this morning and were all chosen to be hot chocolate heroes during our Friday celebration.
Another busy 4 days at Langar, and again lots to celebrate. This week our ‘Hot Chocolate Heroes’ were spotted for their learning to learn skills. Hearing words such as ‘motivated’, ‘engaged’and ‘persevered’ being used by the Teachers to describe these children is wonderful.
Our House Captains spoke enthusiastically of the children they have seen upholding their school values this week.
Well done, so proud!
The class three children have had a whale of a time splashing about at Walesby. Mrs Nicholson tells me that the children are just as energetic as ever and that they have been completely fearless today. The last thing I heard was that the children were dancing at the disco. I've got a feeling they'll all be asleep on the bus home tomorrow afternoon.
The morning of day two at Walesby consisted of the climbing wall (apparently tall enough to provoke uncontrollable yelps of excitement) and the wobble pole. I'm not sure exactly what a wobble pole is but the photos make it look just as high as the climbing wall but.....wobbly! Take a look at the photos and see if you'd dare brave these lofty heights.
Class 3 have had a fabulous time at Walesby and can't wait for tomorrow. Mrs Nicholson has just messaged me with a quick update and a few photos. They've all enjoyed their activities and have 'eaten loads'. Well that's reassuring!
Mrs Nicholson messaged me to let me know that the class three children have all arrived happily, unpacked their suitcases and made their beds. They have just enjoyed their lunch and will shortly be getting set for their afternoon activities - a cave maze and air rifles. I'm a little jealous!
A big thank you to Sarah and Grant for bringing in 5 of their lambs to show us. Caitlin and Laurie did an amazing job as always telling us about them, and testing our knowledge with a quiz! We love our yearly visit and finding out what you have named the lambs. We enjoyed feeding and stroking them. The visit was enjoyed by all classes and Pre-school.
I look forward to this celebration service and awarding the amazing achievements that have happened. We celebrated our school values this week, our children are truly amazing at upholding them. What a great way to end the week with a cup of hot chocolate and meeting with the children awarded for their values.
